Nutrition and Functional Medicine
Dr. Alina Cernea, the founder of NutriHealing, the first functional and integrative medicine practice in Romania, is a general practitioner and a nutritional therapist specializing in functional and integrative medicine. She has a keen interest in nutrition and body balance and has studied and researched nutrition for over ten years. In 2016, after completing the program of the German Institute for Functional and Environmental Medicine (Institut für Functional Medicine und Umweltmedizin) run by the reputed physician and author Dr Klaus Runow.
In 2015, Dr. Alina Cernea attended the Vienna School of Traditional Chinese Medicine specializing in Five Elements Nutrition (wood, fire, water, metal, earth).
Dr. Alina Cernea has worked in the field of laboratory and medical equipment since 1996 and has acquired a particular expertise in quality control. The experience gained throughout her career as a specialist in the supply of physical, chemical and microbiological analytical instruments for food quality control laboratories has helped her develop a clear understanding of food quality starting from the very manufacturing process. Dr. Cernea has studied food technology and safety in close connection with medical specialties dealing with qualitative and quantitative nutrition.
Contact with medical research facilities in Romania and Western Europe provided her with regular updates on the latest investigation methods and technologies as well as on medical pathologies. Dr. Cernea has also a broad understanding of other related and interconnected domains, which directly impact on the quality of life such as nutrition and food science and environmental pollution. As part of her work, Dr. Cernea has been involved in the supply of high performance equipment for facilities specializing in environmental pollution research.
As a result, ten years ago, Dr Cernea became interested in connecting and using all this knowledge and information to identify health issues and restore body balance to the benefit of herself and her friends and relatives. She attended various nutrition and environmental medicine courses in Germany and Austria. Her education and the knowledge acquired throughout her career have allowed her develop nutrition competencies that are hard to find in Romania.
Dr. Cernea is a graduate of Carol Davila Medical School in Bucharest (1998) and holds an MS in Nutrition and Food Safety from the same University.
